As the last box is packed and the door closes on the downtown Tarpon head office, there are many memories. The three floors perched above the 8th Avenue Mall that always brimmed with character, were home to many deals signed and wins celebrated. Now, as a new era begins, 123 Tarponators will be making the move and settling into the company’s headquarters at 7020 – 81 Street SE in Calgary. The third floor downtown will remain and be transformed into a Sales and Business Development office. One of the main business advantages of relocating to a new building is the close proximity to the Canfer and Orban sites, where many of our integrated projects are staged and completed. “The growth of our organization has been explosive,” says Kevin Fleury, Tarpon’s President and CEO. “The move to this facility provides the executive team with an opportunity to work more closely with management and employees of our subsidiary companies. It is imperative that we not lose sight of our strong culture that recognizes the value of our stakeholders and employees above all else.” With 61,530 square feet of space, the new head office building comes complete with many new amenities. As well as being close to Calgary’s wide open spaces, free parking is available to all employees. A large cafeteria on the north side will serve a variety of meals; as well, employees will have access to a workout facility. The entrance to the new building provides a view of the office space which features existing and new furniture in cherry wood, with grey carpet and tile throughout. The walls are a taupe color, with maple laminate cabinetry. “The building has basically been planned from scratch,” says Trish Kloberdanz, Corporate Communications Specialist. “The project management was complex, from designing the floor plan, to picking out furniture and accessories, to scheduling and budgeting.” Many people have been involved with coordinating the move, and a special thank you goes to all of you.
