Tarpon Acquires The Electrician

Tarpon Energy Services Ltd. is pleased to announce it has acquired all outstanding shares of D.E. Guyatt (1990) Company Limited operated as The Electrician of Prince Rupert, British Columbia effective December 17, 2014. This transaction expands Tarpon’s offering on the west coast of British Columbia and will be complementary to Couto Electric and Controls which operates out of Kitimat, British Columbia.

The Electrician, an electrical contractor, was purchased from Richard Wright and Sandy Giordano who will continue to operate the local branch under the name The Electrician. We are pleased to welcome Richard and Sandy as well as The Electrician’s talented and experienced workforce to our organization.

For over 50 years, The Electrician has been providing reliable services for new construction, renovations, alterations, power smart services, fire alarms, data cablings and bucket truck rentals within Prince Rupert and surrounding areas.

“The Electrician is a solid company and fits nicely into Tarpon’s strategy of geographic expansion into new markets,” said Rick Wickland, Tarpon’s president. “The timing of this acquisition is good as British Columbia’s west coast is experiencing increased activity with multiple port expansions to support growing lines of business like forest products, mining and LNG.”

In addition, The Electrician has worked closely with First Nations partners in the area and will continue to strengthen these relationships as part of the Tarpon group of companies.
