Tarpon Maintains Platinum Club Status for Fourth Consecutive Year with Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program

Dedication to its core values, ability to be flexible in a changing marketplace and sheer determination are some of the many reasons why Tarpon Energy Services Ltd. was awarded Platinum Club member status with Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the fourth year in a row. Platinum Club membership is achieved by companies that maintain Best Managed status for a minimum of six consecutive years. 2016 marks the 10th year since Tarpon was first inducted into the prestigious Best Managed program.

“Achieving Best Managed status for 10 consecutive years is a testament of the hard work, enthusiasm and true grit of our team,” said Rick Wickland, president, Tarpon Energy Services Ltd. “It has been an extremely difficult year for those in the Canadian energy industry and like many, Tarpon has been put to the test; I am tremendously proud of our team and am confident our resilience will prove to be the key to our success story.”

Established in 1993, Canada’s Best Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business awards programs recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways. Applicants are evaluated by an independent judging panel on overall business performance, including leadership, strategy, core competencies, cross-functional collaboration throughout organization, and talent.

“Companies that earn Platinum Club status in the Canada’s Best Managed program are true leaders in the Canadian marketplace,” said Jon Hountalas, Executive Vice-President, Business and Corporate Banking, CIBC. “They exemplify strong vision and leadership, a sustained commitment to growth and innovation, and dedication to their values.”
